Merle Sorenson joined Robinson Brothers Construction in 2008, when he was offered a majority interest and a position as board chairman. At RBC, he’s continued to work closely with many of the management personnel he’s collaborated with over the last 30 years. His emphasis on accountability, long-term vision, and strong workplace culture at RBC is critical to its growth within the telecommunications, power, and renewable wind energy sectors.

In 2006, Mike Rakoz acquired Robinson Brothers Construction with his good friend Craig Sorenson. He is the president of RBC, overseeing its operational activities, project estimating, and business development. Mike is proud of his company’s strong culture, open communication, and competitive spirit in an intense industry. Constantly changing geographical variables and the role RBC plays in supporting the country’s infrastructure make his work fascinating and fulfilling.

Marty Miller

Marty Miller

Chief Financial Officer
Marty Miller is a financial expert with extensive experience in the construction industry. In 2015, he joined Robinson Brothers Construction, using his expertise to develop RBC’s strategic financial plan and support its status as an industry leader in fiber optic. He’s proud of the part he’s played in the building of indispensable facilities and infrastructure across the region.

Craig Sorenson

Executive Vice President
In May 2006, Craig and long-time friend Mike Rakoz acquired Robinson Brothers Construction, seizing an opportunity to work with family, friends, and former employees. Under Craig’s direction as executive vice president, RBC competes with dominant names in the communications construction industry while retaining its values as an independently owned business. He oversees corporate leadership, finance, risk management, fleet management, and many other roles within the business. Craig connects employees and customers across regions, uniting RBC’s teams under common goals and helping them complete projects accurately and efficiently.

Marv Porfily

Marvin Porfily

Vice President of Equipment & Logistics
Marvin Porfily came to Robinson Brothers Construction in 2008 as an IBEW operator with 25 years of logistics experience and broad knowledge of the power, communications, and trucking industries. His time in the field and in management prepared Marvin to be a solid fleet manager for RBC, where he procures, manages, and distributes the company’s equipment. Marvin’s strengths lie in meeting and solving problems directly, making him a perfect fit for the work ethic and culture of integrity that drew him to RBC.

Darren Farrell

Darren Farrell

Advisory Board Member
Darren Farrell’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University and experience in California, Oregon, and Washington have helped many leading contractors in the Northwest become more successful. Robinson Brothers Construction is no exception. With Darren’s expertise and RBC’s leadership, the company has developed a solid succession plan, as well as creative ways to attract and retain some of the best people in our industry. Aside from his work for RBC, Darren is a financial advisor for First Pacific Financial who enjoys coaching youth sports and volunteering in his community.

Lance Barrett

Lance Barrett

Certified Public Accountant
Lance Barrett has been with Robinson Brothers Construction since the beginning, helping the company navigate financial issues and managing its plan for growth. Lance’s ambition and good business sense are some of RBC’s most valuable assets; they’ve also earned him high praise within the industry. He’s a RAN ONE North American Advisor of the Year (2011) and a RAN ONE Masters graduate, as well as a co-author of “The Insider’s Guide to Business Success.”
